(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man was taken into custody Sunday morning after police responded to a reported domestic dispute and determined he had violated an active order of protection.
Officers from the Jamestown Police Department responded at approximately 9:52 a.m. on April 5, 2026, to a reported domestic dispute in progress in the middle of a street on the city’s south side.
Upon arrival, officers located 37-year-old Christopher E. Dellahoy of Jamestown in the presence of the protected individual. Police were aware of a valid stay-away order of protection in place against Dellahoy, prohibiting contact with the victim.
According to authorities, Dellahoy attempted to flee the scene on a bicycle after noticing officers approaching. He stopped a short distance away and was taken into custody without further incident.
Dellahoy was charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, a violation related to disobeying a court-issued order of protection.
He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
