(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. — A 21-year-old man died following a shooting Monday night on Walden Avenue, and a suspect is now facing multiple charges, according to police.

Authorities said officers responded to the 200 block of Walden Avenue, near Wasmuth Avenue and Roetzer Street, shortly after 9:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they located a shooting victim identified as Jihad Gibbs, 21, of Buffalo.

Gibbs was transported to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC), where he later succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Following an investigation, police arrested Angel Rodriguez-Rondon, 22, of Cheektowaga. He has been charged with second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and additional charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
