(WNY News Now) – A 25-year-old Cherry Creek woman faces multiple charges after an early morning traffic stop in Jamestown led to a driving while intoxicated investigation.

Jamestown — On April 12, 2026, at approximately 5:04 a.m., officers with the Jamestown Police Department’s Third Platoon conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Newland Avenue and Foote Avenue after observing several traffic violations.

Police identified the driver as Shannan N. Lamer, 25, of Cherry Creek. Following an investigation at the scene, officers determined that Lamer was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

According to authorities, Lamer resisted arrest during the encounter, resulting in a brief struggle before officers were able to take her into custody. She was transported to the Jamestown City Jail for processing.

Lamer has been charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), DWI per se, resisting arrest, and additional uniform traffic ticket violations.

After processing, she was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
