(WNY News Now) – A 32-year-old Niagara Falls man has pleaded guilty to three sex crimes involving three separate victims in 2023, according to the Niagara County District Attorney’s Office.

Demitrius R. Cole pleaded guilty to one count each of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, Rape in the First Degree and Attempted Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree.

The crimes occurred in Niagara Falls in 2023 and involved three separate victims, prosecutors said.

Cole faces a prison sentence of between 22 and 28 years, followed by up to 25 years of post-release supervision.

Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman said prosecutors will ask the court to impose the maximum prison sentence and maximum period of post-release supervision.

“The guilty plea in this case ensures that an extremely dangerous sexual predator is removed from society for a very long time,” Seaman said in a statement. He also said the plea allows the victims to avoid testifying at trial and potentially reliving their experiences in court.

The cases were investigated by the Niagara Falls Police Department.

Special Victims Unit Bureau Chief Heather Nicholson and Grand Jury Bureau Chief David DeChellis prosecuted the cases.

Cole is scheduled to be sentenced December 18 by Erie County Judge Jessica Kulpit, who was assigned to preside over the trial.
