(WNY News Now) – A Newfane woman was arrested Sept. 12 following an investigation by the Niagara County Drug Task Force, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.

NEWFANE, N.Y. — Emily J. Walker of Newfane was arrested on a charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The arrest followed an investigation conducted by the Niagara County Drug Task Force. Deputies said the arrest occurred around 9 a.m. Sept. 12 in the Town of Newfane.

Walker was also found to have an active warrant issued by the Lockport Police Department, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

She was held at the Niagara County Jail pending arraignment.

The charge is an allegation, and the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
