Foster Care Open House Slated For Jan. 17 At Cassadaga Park United Methodist Campus

CASSADAGA – Foster parents are needed in Chautauqua County. To that end, there will be a Foster Parent open house from 4 to 6 p.m.,Thursday, Jan. 17 at the Cassadaga Campus of the Park United Methodist Church, 25 Maple Ave.

The open house and orientation will inform people about Foster Care and Adoption programs and introduce the Home Finding Team.

Sara Becker, Home Finding Supervisor, told WNYNewsNow, there is almost always a need for foster care families.











“We are in deep need of homes,” she said. “It’s really constant. It has increased in the past several years, yes. The opioid crises has certainly increased that.”

There are currently 85 foster homes in Chautauqua County and about 110 children in need of care.
