Man Charged In Death Of Inmate At Cattaraugus County Jail

LITTLE VALLEY – A 31-year-old man is facing manslaughter and homicide charges connected to a death at the Cattaraugus County Jail last month.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office says Daniel Klein was arrested on Tuesday.











He is charged with second-degree manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide connected to a May death of a 36-year-old man at the county jail facility in Little Valley.

In addition to the charges above, Klein was also accused of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal sale of a controlled substance and three counts of possession of prison contraband.

Following arraignment, he was remanded to the jail on $100,000 bail.









The maximum security 150 bed facility is comprised of both linear bar sections and dorm, direct supervision pods, housing both sentenced and un-sentenced prisoners in Cattaraugus County.
