JAMESTOWN – Over $32,000 has been raised to help cover funeral costs for a Jamestown teen who was killed by an allegedly impaired truck driver last week.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up to help make final arrangements for 15-year-old Alexis Hughan, who was crossing West 6th Street near Washington Street around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, when she was hit by an 18-wheel car carrier.

Since Friday, a memorial has been set up near the crash site with tributes pouring in for Hughan on social media as well. Funeral arraignments will be held by Lind Funeral Home.

The tragic news of her death was not only shocking to her parents, but the community as a whole. Jamestown Public Schools’ School Crisis Intervention Team is assisting students with grief counseling services on Monday.

As grieving continues, Jamestown Police have lodged charges against the truck driver who allegedly hit Hughan and fled the scene without stopping to check on the girl.

58-year-old Randall Rolison is charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

Police say additional charges are pending the results of further investigation.
