Dunkirk Man Sentenced In Northern Chautauqua County Shooting

DUNKIRK, NY (WNY News Now) – A 25-year-old Dunkirk man was sentenced to nearly a decade in state prison in connection with a northern Chautauqua County shooting last summer.

The Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office announced the criminal sentencing on Wednesday against Adrian Rivera-Salome.

The man was arrested last July after discharging a 9mm pistol in the 400 block of Park Columbus Avenues in Dunkirk, pointing the gun at people and shooting in the air several times.

Rivera-Salome, who is already a parolee, was convicted in January for felony criminal possession of a weapon.

After serving nine years behind bars, Rivera-Salome will undergo five years of parole supervision.
