(WNY News Now) – Erie, Pa- Attorney General Michelle Henry urges Pennsylvania consumers to act swiftly as Red Lobster restaurant closures and bankruptcy filings pose risks to rewards and gift cards.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry is alerting consumers about potential impacts following Red Lobster’s recent restaurant closures and bankruptcy filing. Although most closures have affected locations outside Pennsylvania, Red Lobster’s website confirms that the Erie location has already shut its doors.

Attorney General Henry advises consumers to regularly check the Red Lobster website for updates on their local restaurant’s status and to be vigilant about further potential closures.

The financial instability and ensuing closures could significantly affect consumers’ ability to use Red Lobster rewards, loyalty points, coupons, and unused gift cards.

“Consumers who have rewards or loyalty points and unused gift cards should consider using them sooner rather than later,” Attorney General Henry emphasized.

For consumers encountering difficulties redeeming their Red Lobster rewards, loyalty points, coupons, or gift cards at operational locations, the Office of Attorney General’s Bureau of Consumer Protection is available for assistance. Affected consumers can contact the bureau at 1-800-441-2555. Customers in states where Red Lobster locations have closed are also advised to seek help through this hotline.
