Sheridan, NY – A high-speed vehicle pursuit through the towns of Sheridan and Hanover concluded with the arrest of Philip A. Decker, 25, on multiple drug charges.

On the morning of June 20th, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division officers attempted to stop Philip A. Decker, a known suspended driver, in Sheridan, NY. Instead of complying, Decker allegedly initiated a vehicle pursuit that spanned from Sheridan into the neighboring town of Hanover.

The chase reached a dramatic peak when Decker abandoned his vehicle on Route 5/20 near Hanford Road and fled on foot. Law enforcement officers quickly mobilized and located Decker at a residence in Hanford Bay, where he was apprehended.

Upon his capture, investigators discovered Decker in possession of 101.4 grams of methamphetamine, 9.7 grams of crack cocaine, and various drug paraphernalia. Decker was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail and arraigned at the Centralized Arraignment Program (CAP).

Decker faces serious charges including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second and Third Degrees, and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree. Additionally, he was issued several vehicle and traffic citations. His case will be heard in the Town Courts of Sheridan, Pomfret, and Hanover.
