(WNY News Now) – A 38-year-old Panama man received a six-year state prison sentence with three years of post-release supervision for violating probation, following a methamphetamine-related arrest in Jamestown.

On July 1st, in Chautauqua County Court, Judge David Foley imposed a determinate six-year prison term on Billy Heilman for violating probation. Heilman’s legal troubles began in February 2023 when Jamestown Police conducted a routine traffic stop and discovered methamphetamines in his possession, leading to his arrest. Initially sentenced to five years of probation in February 2024 after a conviction for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, Heilman ran afoul of probation terms in May 2024. The Chautauqua County Office of Probation filed a violation, prompting this recent sentencing.

District Attorney David Foley expressed gratitude to Jamestown Police and Chautauqua County Probation Officers for their roles in apprehending Heilman and ensuring compliance with probationary terms.
