(WNY News Now) – Jamestown – Jamestown resident Michael C. Hetrick, 39, faces multiple charges after allegedly breaking into a woman’s home, violating a protection order, and resisting arrest in a tense early morning incident.
In the early hours of July 3, 2024, at approximately 4:10 AM, Jamestown police officers responded to a domestic disturbance at a West Side address. The incident involved Michael C. Hetrick, a 39-year-old resident of Jamestown, who was reported as an unwanted person at the location.
Upon arrival, officers learned that Hetrick had a valid order of protection to stay away from the residence and its female occupant. According to the victim, Hetrick had entered her home without permission and refused to leave. During the altercation, Hetrick allegedly restrained the victim, obstructing her breathing by covering her nose and mouth.
Hetrick fled the scene before the officers arrived but was later found hiding in a nearby wooded area. When officers attempted to arrest him, he actively resisted, resulting in a brief struggle. Hetrick was eventually subdued and taken into custody.
He was charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing/Blood Circulation, Unlawful Imprisonment, and Resisting Arrest. Hetrick is currently held at the Jamestown City Jail, pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, Hetrick is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
