(WNY News Now) – Jamestown – A domestic dispute on the south side of Jamestown led to the arrest of Jonathan Torres, who now faces charges including child endangerment and criminal mischief.
On the evening of September 2, 2024, at approximately 6:59 PM, Jamestown Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute in progress on the city’s south side. Upon arrival, officers located 35-year-old Jonathan Torres standing outside the residence in the roadway. Torres, a known resident of Jamestown, had an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Jamestown Police Department.
Officers quickly detained Torres and proceeded to investigate the domestic incident. The female victim on the scene informed officers that Torres had forcibly damaged a door window in an attempt to gain entry into the home. At the time of the incident, two children were present inside the residence, standing near the door. The children were reportedly crying and visibly frightened during the altercation.
As a result of the investigation, Torres was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was transported to the city jail, where he is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
