(WNY News Now) – FRANKLINVILLE, NY — A routine traffic stop on NY 242 in Franklinville early Sunday morning resulted in the arrest of a Randolph man on charges of driving while intoxicated (DWI).
At approximately 1:40 a.m. on December 8, 2024, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Deputies pulled over 24-year-old Tres J. Sherman for vehicle and traffic violations. During the stop, deputies determined that Sherman was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
Sherman was arrested and charged with multiple violations, including:
- Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) (Vehicle and Traffic Law Sections 1192.2, 1192.2AA, and 1192.3)
- Failure to Keep Right (Section 1120A)
- Improper Lane Usage (Section 1128A)
After being processed at the Sheriff’s Office, Sherman was issued appearance tickets and released. He is scheduled to appear in Franklinville Town Court before Judge Holden at a later date to respond to the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
