(WNY News Now) – A routine traffic stop on New Year’s Eve uncovered a domestic violation, leading to the arrest of a Jamestown resident.
On December 31, 2024, at approximately 7:33 PM, Jamestown police officers patrolling the city’s north side initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle driving without headlights or taillights. Upon investigation, officers discovered two individuals inside the vehicle, including the driver, 28-year-old Angel M. Figueroa Jr., a Jamestown resident.
Further inquiry revealed that Figueroa was under a valid stay-away order of protection involving the passenger in the car. This violation of the court order led to his immediate arrest.
Figueroa was transported to the Jamestown City Jail without incident and charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree. He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
