(WNY News Now) – A 19-year-old Jamestown man was arrested early this morning for violating a stay-away order of protection and resisting arrest.
On January 6, 2025, at approximately 2:43 AM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon responded to a 911 hang-up call at a hotel on the city’s Westside. Upon arrival, they discovered 19-year-old Jezreel Deleon in a hotel room with a female and toddler, despite a valid stay-away order of protection barring him from contact with the victims.
When police attempted to make contact with Deleon, he was found hiding under a bathroom sink. Officers instructed him to leave the room, but Deleon refused to comply, prompting a brief standoff. After several moments, Deleon eventually followed the officers’ commands and was taken into custody without further incident.
Deleon was charged with two counts of Criminal Contempt in the 2nd degree and one count of Resisting Arrest. He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
