(WNY News Now) – A significant narcotics investigation in Jamestown has led to the arrest of a local resident, uncovering a large cache of illegal drugs during a search warrant operation.

Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force officers and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators executed a search warrant at 10:43 a.m. on January 6, 2025, at a lower apartment on 613 Newland Avenue. The operation resulted in the arrest of 26-year-old Jaydaicus S. Black of Jamestown.

During the search, law enforcement discovered and seized a substantial amount of illegal substances, including:

  • 76.4 grams of methamphetamine
  • 1.9 grams of fentanyl
  • 52 fentanyl dosage units
  • 10.7 grams of crack cocaine
  • 3.5 grams of powder cocaine
  • 2.0 grams of MDMA (ecstasy)

In addition to the drugs, investigators located drug paraphernalia indicative of narcotics distribution activities. Black now faces multiple charges, including:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree
  • Four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree
  • Three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree
  • Two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree

Black is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. Authorities indicated that the investigation remains active, and additional arrests are anticipated.

The Jamestown Police Department, with assistance from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, urges anyone with information about drug or criminal activity to come forward. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
