(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown resident was arrested early Monday morning after allegedly operating a city plow truck under the influence, striking a street sign, and leaving the scene of the accident.

JAMESTOWN, NY – Jeremy G. Dossey, a 37-year-old Jamestown resident, faces charges of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident following an early morning incident on January 13, 2025.

At approximately 12:56 a.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Third Platoon were on patrol when they were alerted to a city plow truck striking a street sign at the intersection of Buffalo Street and Beechview. A witness reported the incident and followed the vehicle to a local convenience store, where it was later pointed out to responding officers.

According to the police, the plow truck operator failed to comply with an officer’s attempt to stop the vehicle, continuing for several blocks before coming to a halt. Upon conducting an investigation, officers determined that Dossey, the driver of the plow truck, was under the influence of alcohol.

Dossey reportedly failed field sobriety tests at the scene and was subsequently taken into custody without incident. Once in custody, he refused to submit to a chemical test, leading to the DWI charge.

The case is being handled by Jamestown City Court, and Dossey is currently held pending arraignment. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
