(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A federal jury has convicted 31-year-old Trenton Grant of Jamestown on multiple drug and firearm charges, federal officials announced.

Trenton Grant was found guilty of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. These charges carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years in prison and a maximum of life imprisonment.

According to prosecutors, the investigation began in May 2023 when the Olean Police Department looked into Grant’s alleged drug trafficking activities. On July 25, 2023, officers executed search warrants on Grant’s vehicle and person, recovering approximately 71 grams of methamphetamine, five grams of cocaine, and four grams of fentanyl. A loaded, stolen firearm and ammunition were also found in the trunk of his vehicle. At the time of his arrest, Grant was on parole for a 2016 felony assault conviction, which legally prohibited him from possessing firearms.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Joshua A. Violanti and Stacey Jacovetti and investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, New York Field Division, under Special Agent-in-Charge Frank Tarentino, along with the Olean Police Department, led by Chief Ron Richardson.

Grant is scheduled to be sentenced on February 4, 2026, by U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr., who oversaw the trial.
