(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A Jamestown man is facing multiple charges after police responded to a reported domestic dispute on the city’s westside on Monday afternoon.

On August 18, 2025, at approximately 2:14 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 1st Platoon were called to a westside address for a domestic incident. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who holds a full stay-away order of protection against Robert J. Brown, 50, of Jamestown.

While police were on scene, Brown entered the apartment, violating the order of protection. He was immediately taken into custody without incident.

During the investigation, officers determined that Brown had forcibly stolen items belonging to the victim. Further checks revealed Brown had an active felony arrest warrant from Jamestown City Court for Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, along with a probation warrant.

Brown was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment. He faces charges of Robbery in the Third Degree, two counts of Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, and Petit Larceny, in addition to the outstanding warrants. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
