(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, N.Y. — A Jamestown resident was charged with criminal mischief following an incident reported on the city’s East Side Friday evening, according to the Jamestown Police Department.
Jamestown police said officers from the department’s 2nd Platoon responded to a residence on the East Side at approximately 6:11 p.m. on January 9, 2026, for a reported criminal mischief complaint.
Following an investigation at the scene, officers determined that Jaden M. Caraballo, 20, of Jamestown, had allegedly cut the power cord to a video camera mounted above the door to the victim’s apartment. The camera was reportedly damaged as a result of the incident.
Police took Caraballo into custody at the scene and transported the suspect to the Jamestown City Jail for processing. Due to New York State bail reform regulations, Caraballo was released on an appearance ticket.
Caraballo was charged with Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date for arraignment.
As with all cases, the charge is an allegation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
