(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man was taken into custody Tuesday after a narcotics investigation led to the execution of a search warrant and the seizure of controlled substances, according to local authorities.

Narcotics investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and Jamestown Police Department executed a search warrant at an upper apartment located at 313 Prather Street at approximately 12:09 p.m.

Authorities report that Devonte Green, 26, of Jamestown, who was wanted on a New York State parole warrant, was seen leaving the residence in a vehicle shortly before the warrant was executed. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but Green allegedly continued driving a short distance before fleeing on foot. He was taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit.

Following the arrest, investigators conducted searches of the residence, the vehicle, and Green’s person. As a result, authorities report seizing approximately 2.3 grams of fentanyl, 4.7 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, and $131 in U.S. currency.

Green has been charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Multiple vehicle and traffic violations

He was transported to the Jamestown Police Department and is expected to be arraigned in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
