(WNY News Now) – A 53-year-old Jamestown resident was taken into custody early Friday after police investigated a reported domestic dispute on the city’s south side.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the department’s 3rd Platoon responded to the incident at approximately 12:50 a.m. on May 22, 2026.
Following an investigation, police alleged that Michael S. Cook violated an active order of protection during the dispute. Authorities said Cook allegedly pushed and kicked a female victim.
Cook was charged with two counts of first-degree criminal contempt. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the city jail.
Police said Cook was being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
